The Pickwick Picnic

A Special Celebration for Canada 150
Queen Victoria and Charles Dickens are coming to Chatham on Canada Day to celebrate its 150th Birthday! Join the festivities on the lawns of the Milner House and the C-K Museum for an unforgettable Pickwick Picnic.

Horse-drawn carriage tours through parts of old Chatham and a box lunch featuring British and Canadian delicacies will delight the palate and the heart. Meet Queen Victoria and Charles Dickens, who, after visiting Canada in 1842, described the Nation as, “full of hope and promise”. Both a storyteller and magician promise to weave the magic of the moment with tricks and truth.

The C-K Dickens Fellowship and Chatham-Kent Museum plan to sell 150 tickets to this unique event that “connects past and present, and celebrates a great country ‘still full of hope and promise’,” says John Jordan, Chair of the C-K Dickens Fellowship. Deanna Provost-Bullard, Co-ordinator, C-K Museum Programs, invites, “Everyone, no matter what age, to make this one of a kind party part of your history.”

Reserve your Pickwick Picnic on July 1st starting at 12 p.m. at the Milner House, across from Tecumseh Park on William St. Food and all events are included for a ticket of $25.00 per adult/$10.00 for 13 and under.
